On the subway last week, I estimated 98% black coats. I tried to understand why. Sophistication was not the goal - none of us were trying for that. We weren't all going to a funeral. I finally decided that wearing a black coat is like suiting up in armor. It adds a seriousness to one's presence in the crowd. It says "Don't mess with me. I'm not an easy mark. Go mess with that guy over there, in the sky blue jacket."
Oh and also, while the Baad Lamb was praising this photo, I suddenly noticed that it looks like the keyboard of a piano, no?
